Students receiving course credit may have only one elective absence (other than medical illness or a medical appointment) from scheduled hours each term. Note that course requirements are not a valid reason for missing lab.
All students must complete the form below prior to their absence. If the form is not completed in advance of the absence, the absence will be deemed to be unexcused. After one elective absence, most absences from the lab (other than medical illness) will be deemed to be unexcused. Students will be informed by Dr. Yates whether their absence is excused or unexcused.
Students may have one unexcused absence (in addition to one elective absence) each term. Unexcused absences will affect a student's grade in the following fashion:
